Existing Facilities

The SSD consultancy services for existing facilities are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

  • Attend briefings with stakeholders as required
  • Validation of compliance of the SSD and Endoscopy Reprocessing with the current AS/NZS 4187:2014 and Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) Guidelines
  • Review the current layout and equipment to validate the workflow and its ability to deliver an efficient level of service for the current and future needs of the hospital
  • Colocation and offsite reprocessing planning
  • Undertake value management assessment and provide any recommendations on both the equipment requirements and workflow changes which could improve functionality and productivity
  • Identify any safety and risk management issues and possible solutions.
  • Provision of equipment requirements to improve the facilities workflow and efficiencies and if required a list of equipment needed to ensure the facility meets current AS/NZS 4187:2014 and GENCA Requirements
  • Provide cost estimates for all recommended equipment
  • Provide concept designs which will assist with the workflow improvements and equipment changes.

New Facilities

The SSD consultancy services for new facilities are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

  • Review and analyze the project’s design and workflows
  • Review the planned model of care and all other supporting documentation as provided
  • Undertake market analysis and review to determine equipment options best suited to manage the required instrument and equipment throughputs for all services
  • Review architectural design drawings and planned layouts as provided to ensure the fit out meets the facilities requirements and complies with AS/NZS 4187:2014
  • Provide concept designs incorporating the workflow and required equipment
  • Provide cost estimates for all recommended equipment
  • Peer reviews.

Procurement planning and management

HEPA can assist with the procurement management process for the new equipment required for the SSD and Endoscopy Reprocessing Area. This process includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Product selection and development of specification to tender level
  • Procurement cost planning advice
  • Supplier management
  • Tendering and tender reviews.
